"If you work with younger children in a Play Therapy setting, or are considering working with children I would highly recommend this comprehensive Play Therapy training. A few of the topics covered in the course were: Toys for the playroom, children on the autism spectrum and Play Therapy, the importance of empathy, boundaries in the play room and the gift of being present with the children. The program was delivered in a compassionate and caring manner by experienced professionals. Thank you Jewel, I really enjoyed it!" Tamara York: Child and Family Practitioner, Western Australia
"This was an amazing training in Child Centered Play Therapy and I have learnt so much. Not only amazing techniques for professional use but also I have used them in my personal life and they open a new way of connection with others and especially with kids. In this training as I passed throughout the topics, I listened to Jewel Janan who really got my attention in every topic. She was always so passionate about this way of working with children. The training was amazing also because of all the videos of Dr. Garry Landreth and recordings of Dr. Jodi Mullen, Dr. Jeff Cochran and Nancy Cochran and June Rickli. They add really good experiences from the other side of the world. Also it is always superb listening to these amazing professionals talking in such an authentic way about what they do and how they work. I have learnt so much and it was a life changer. My relationships and my usual work as a psychologist have improved substantially in a way that it is very pleasing for me. I feel deeply honored to have this program in my life." Dorisa Peres, Psychologist from Portugal
"After working as an art therapist for over 16 years in the United States my family and I moved to Israel. I opened up a private practice here in Israel and I became very interested in formal training in Play Therapy. The Child Centered Play Therapy online training has been a true gift and such a wonderful learning experience!! I have gained so much valuable knowledge from the videos and presentations!! This past year private practice has grown and now I am looking into creating my own play and art therapy space! I have revisited the sessions on what toys to have in the playroom and it has been extremely helpful in creating a structure for me to follow! I have also already incorporated the different response techniques and limit setting techniques while working with children! I have found that Jewel presents in a way that is so clear and so easy to understand that it has already helped change the way I practice!! It was such a pleasure learning and growing as a professional and I am deeply grateful for this wonderful opportunity !!" Sara Feinberg: Art Therapist, Israel

"Play Therapy Training with the Play Therapy Online Training Academy was beyond my expectations. I felt as if my eyes were opened to the world of children. I am a graduate student in Clinical Social Work in Connecticut, United States. I genuinely love working with children, and I get along very well with them and vice-versa. However, I felt for a while that something was missing in our communication. I am currently doing my internship (500 hours) at an early development center (Quacker based), and I have been working with children from 3-5 years old. My field supervisor explained to me how to approach children in a holistic and humanistic way, but for some reason I was not getting it. I was quick on problem-solving and I asked a lot of questions of the child. When I played with the child, I would follow the child’s game, but I put a lot of my ideas into their play and many times I noticed that when I put my thoughts into the game, the child just stopped playing and played something else. The Child Centered Play Therapy Online Course gave me valuable tools and skills on how to approach children and understand them through their play because play is their language. I remember when I started to do this course in December 2018 and I was on the winter break, I was also moving to another town and holidays were happening; however, I would still find time either at night or early in the morning to work on the course because I got so fascinated about what I was learning. When I went back to my internship in January 2019, my mind was not the same. I started to see patterns, stages, and know information that the child was telling me through play. All of a sudden, my approach changed. I understood that it was not precisely about me helping them, but instead about the child telling me about them, and the importance of our relationship. There were many times that I just reflected back the child's feelings (e.g., happiness, sadness or anger). However, in every scenario when I reflected back what the child was experiencing, the child would look at me with an entirely different gaze, which is hard to explain. Their eyes communicated: “You understand me.” I would use the “whisper” technique to let the child lead the play and so many other techniques I learnt that helped me to connect with children. I genuinely loved this course and fell in love with the Child Centered Play Therapy approach." Francinne Anez-Moronta: Graduate Student in Clinical Social Work, Connecticut USA
Some of the Feedback from Jewel's Face to Face/Contact Training:
"I am overcome with gratitude for you opening the door for me into Child Centered Play Therapy. It has been life changing."
"I have attended numerous training workshops facilitated by Jewel, and have remained in contact with her since this time as I have progressed in both my personal and professional journey over the years. Jewel is one of the most warm and empathic people I have met, and this combined with her extensive knowledge, experience, professionalism, and capacity to connect offered me a most wonderful experience in being trained by her. I believe that Jewel's strengths in these areas allowed me opportunities to grow in my own capacity for being fully with others, particularly children, and to allow myself to connect with my own personal strengths in order to offer high quality professional services in my work from the heart. Since completing my training with Jewel, she has been a valued guide and role model with a continued supportive presence in my journey." Psychologist, Western Australia
